The Nagel Clinic announces two new board members
The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to the Board of Directors: Sandy Nagel and Katie Gostomski.
“Our Board of Directors is comprised of a dedicated team of community leaders committed to providing strength, stability and hope through health care for residents of Bandera County,” Board President Barbara Shepard said. “We are excited to channel Sandy and Katie’s talent, expertise and energy into furthering our mission.”
Sandy Nagel is married to Gary Nagel, son of the Clinic’s founder, and is active in several organizations in San Antonio, including the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Alamo City Republican Women, and Threads of Love, which provides handmade items for the care of premature babies in Bexar County hospitals. Sandy retired from administrative work with NEISD after 20 years. She also helped develop curriculum materials for the Texas Tech Medical School in Lubbock before it opened to students. Sandy loves being a new grandmother. She and Gary are members of First Baptist Church in San Antonio.
Katie Gostomski is a graduate of Baylor University and made her career in elementary school teaching with districts in Pearsall and South San Antonio. She is currently an instructor with BACH, Boerne Area Christian Homeschoolers. Her father, Clarence Jernigan, was instrumental in establishing the Nagel Clinic when it opened in 2008. Both of her parents served as medical missionaries in the 1970s to the Gaza Strip, Israel, and it was there that she first gained insight into the joy of helping those in need through medicine and health education. Katie met her husband, Pete, when he was in law school at St. Mary’s University. They reside in Pipe Creek.
