The PIPE CREEK VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT has postponed their annual Fall Barbecue. However, Raffle tickets are still available at $5 each or five for $20; first prize is a Mossberg Patriot Predator rifle, including high rings and a scope. Second prize is an automatic deer feeder. There are many other prizes, including HEB gift cards. The tickets are available from Lucy’s BBQ at 9030 FM 1283 or at the fire station through Oct. 11.

Even though the CAJUN FESTIVAL was canceled, the talented Cajun cooks are making their delicacies available for purchase now.
You can purchase a taste of Cajun cuisine with Crawfish Étouffée, Jambalaya, Meat Pies, Crawfish Pies, Gumbo, and Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce. You can buy frozen or ready-to-bake at the Cutaway Salon in Lakehills, located at 9650 FM 1283. Call 830-460-0600 or 210-887-5505 to check availability.
The Étouffée will serve two people for $12; the Jambalaya will also serve two for $9; a quart of Gumbo sells for $10; Meat Pies are six for $15; Crawfish Pies are four for $18; and Bread Pudding costs $20 for large, $10 for medium, and $6 for small servings.
The food offered is the main fundraising effort this year for the Lakehills Civic Center. Located at 11,225 PR 37 in Lakehills, it is the hub of activities for the community and focuses on senior citizens and the kiddos.
TRIPLE-H EQUITHERAPY is hosting a virtual Gala and online auction this year on Saturday, Oct. 17. You must register online for the auction at www.biddingowl.com/Auction/home.cfm?auctionID=23695, which begins at Noon. Bidding will continue until 10 p.m. While on that site, you can donate funds or purchase raffle tickets.
Tune in to the Virtual Gala at their website: www.triple-h.org. The Gala begins at 7 p.m. on the same date.
COCONUT COVE BAR & GRILL, 11409 PR 37, Lakehills, will host the last Cruise In Car Show for this year on Saturday, Oct. 17, 4-7 p.m. As a special event, it is called Haunted Halloween. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes and there will be a prize for the Best Costume, using the Cove Applause-O-Meter.
Of course, this will be followed by Haunted Karaoke, from 7 to 10 p.m. in the bar.
PIPE CREEK PUMPKIN PATCH is now open. Located off Hwy. 16 in Pipe Creek, at 805 Phil Rd., they are only open on weekends through Oct. 31, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Masks are required and admission is $6 per person, under 2 is free. AMERICAN LEGION POST 410, 147 Legion Dr. in Lakehills, is getting a new metal roof on their Hall. They plan to reopen to the public on Oct. 14.
FAMILY HOME GARDEN PROJECT, hosted by Lakehills Civic Center board member Henry Wolanski, helps people raise their own food. He has a live chat every Saturday at 10 a.m. for gardeners and aspiring gardeners. Check in at the website: familyhomegarden.weebly.com.

On Oct. 10, Medina Lake is at 49.5 per cent capacity. The lake level is 1038.36 feet, which is down 25.84 feet.
The Medina River has a flow of 1.5 cfs in Bandera, standing 2.87 feet deep at the gage.
