We love, we love, we love our calendar guys

By Jessica Nohealapa’ahi Goode
The Bandera Prophet

A few of Bandera’s best-known veterans have put together an all-male calendar revue - with a slight twist. Not afraid to show some skin, these seasoned soldiers got in touch with their sensual sides, all for the sake of a Christmas fundraiser.
With a little bit of poise and a lot of pose, U.S. Marine Corps Veterans Jerad Wilcox, Nick Barron and company are the featured fellas for the Dad Bods of Bandera County Dudeoir Calendar. Sold for $30 each, plus $7 shipping if needed, all proceeds go to the Bandera Wranglers and Helping Hands to assist local families that need a little help at Christmas time.
“We all did this to put a smile on peoples faces and raise money for a good cause, supporting local children for the holidays,” Barron said.
On Saturday, Nov. 28, from 1-3 p.m., the calendar models will be at the Red Horse Saloon in Bandera, 2440 Hwy. 16 N., for autographs and photo ops. For a chance to win a free calendar, bring an unwrapped toy.
“A lot of people won’t get the dark military humor in this, and that’s okay, but I think a lot more people are really going to enjoy the finished project and we look forward to more planning time for next years,” Barron said.
To order a calendar now, email dadbodsofbandera@yahoo.com.
