Varsity
The Bulldog varsity dressed only eight players in their contest against Medina Valley and were running close to empty as the Bulldogs faded in the fourth quarter in a 65-46 loss to open the season.
Both teams went tit for tat in the first half, going into the locker rooms tied at 24 all, and the game stayed close until the fourth, but the Panthers started hitting from long range late, to extend their lead and get the victory.
Liam DeMarchi led the way for Bandera with 13 points and 13 boards to open the season. Kayden Brown and Liberty Bomer both scored 9 points each and Brown had 5 assists in the loss.
“I was really proud of the way our guys battled through the adversity they were facing on the court Tuesday night, and they fought until the end. We did a great job playing aggressive, being positive and staying together.
We talk about those three things every day and we exemplified that for most of the game. We need to take better care of the ball and have a better showing in the fourth quarter moving forward, but there are plenty of positives to take out of our season opener and we will build on those going into Friday," coach Brady Keane said.
