Bandera Library hosts fundraiser by mail

Unable to host its annual face-to-face fundraising event, Bandera Library board members have launched a mail campaign. Hoping to raise $20,000, Board President Sally Jones said almost 1,100 letters have been sent out thus far.
“We sent primarily to our cardholders and also to some local businesses… and have received several donations already,” Jones said. “We want to keep our library strong and to be able to provide as many services as we can in as many different formats.”
Previously open by appointment only, the library has expanded access to 10 people at a time. Appointments are still required for computer use and notary services, however copy/fax/printing services and book browsing are available all day.
Masks are required for anyone over the age of 10. Curbside service is also available. Call ahead and the library staff will check out books, magazines, DVDs or puzzles and bring them outside for you.
“You can make an appointment or come to the door and ring,” Jones said. “If there’s room, which there usually is, you can come in and browse for books, have copies made and use the computers.”
The library is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information or to make a donation, call 830-796-4213.
