LAKEHILLS CIVIC CENTER is hosting a Food Distribution sponsored by Silver Sage and the San Antonio Food Bank on Monday, Dec. 28. Located at 11225 PR 37 in Lakehills, the event will be Covid compliant and will begin at 9 a.m. Call the Silver Sage at 830-796-4969 for eligibility requirements.
ALAMO RC&D is partnering with the Food Bank and Silver Sage for the Food Distribution at the Civic Center and they are announcing their 2021 requirements. Due to Covid, the Senior Assistance Program application form will need to be completed online. In order to continue to participate in 2021, each senior household will need to complete our online application on their web page at alamorcd.org. It can be completed on phone, tablet or computer. If you have trouble, text 210-548-9248 and Alma will call you back to walk you through it.
LAKEHILLS CIVIC CENTER made homemade pralines, toffee, peanut brittle, Bon Bons, chocolate covered cherries and other assorted candies. All are on sale now at Cutaway Salon & Spa, 9650 FM 1283, priced from $7 to $25. All proceeds will benefit the Lakehills Civic Center.
AMERICAN LEGION POST 410, 147 Legion Dr. in Lakehills, is open to the public, from 3 p.m., Fridays through Wednesdays. They serve meals every Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m. Each week offers a different dish, with sides and beverage for $8 a plate. Desserts are available for a small amount and diners may eat in or take out. For more information, call the post’s new number: 830-612-1034.
CHRISTIAN WOMENS JOB CORPS is still taking applications for the next class session, beginning Tuesday, January 5. The classes are free and run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week for 12 weeks. Lunch and books are provided. Participants must be over 18 and committed to growth.
The Job Corps will hold an Open House on Monday, Jan. 4, at 10 a.m. The public is invited to welcome the new students, see the facilities, and share in the refreshments. The event will be held in the Youth Building of First Baptist Church in Bandera at 1302 Pecan St.

On Dec. 26, Medina Lake is at 41.9 per cent capacity. The lake level is 1032.67 feet, which is down 31.53 feet.
The Medina River has a flow of 5.81 cfs in Bandera, standing 3.26 feet deep at the gage.
