ALAMO RC&D, through the Senior Assistance Program, will continue with the Curbside Pantry and some economic assistance every month.
The next Curbside Pantry Food Distribution will be held at Faith Tabernacle, 7789 FM 1283, on Thursday, Feb. 11, beginning at 3 p.m.
In order to participate in 2021, each senior household needs to complete the online application at alamorcd.org. Applicants must live in Bandera County or surrounding counties and must be 55 years of age or older. It can be completed on phone, tablet or computer. If you have trouble, text 210-548-9248 and Alma will call you back to walk you through it.
In addition, registrants will also be able to pick up food at Food Distributions sponsored by Silver Sage and the San Antonio Food Bank. That food will be distributed at three locations once each month on the fourth Tuesday and the fourth Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Feb. 23, the food can be picked up at Lakehills Civic Center, 11225 PR 37 in Lakehills, from 9 - 11 a.m.
On the same day, Feb. 23, from 1 - 3 p.m., the food can be picked up at the Medina Volunteer Fire Department in Medina.
On Wednesday, Feb. 24, the food will be available at Mansfield Park, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Registered senior citizens are invited to participate in the free Alamo RC&D Senior Zoom Social Club. Seniors must download the free Zoom app to smart phone, tablet or computer to join the group online for a virtual meeting and they will be sent a link. Zoom meetings are planned for each month and will include fun, friendship and great information. Future social events will provide guest speakers, social discussions, online games, birthday celebrations and prizes.
The next Zoom Social Club meeting will be on Thursday, Feb. 18 with Alma Aquirre presenting “Home Gardening.”
In addition, Alamo RC&D has added a free Zoom Fun-n-Fitness Class for senior citizens. It combines chair exercises, resistance and use of motion to music. Participants must be registered and will be sent a link. The first class is Monday, Feb. 15, from 1 - 2 p.m.

LAKEHILLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH offers Bread of Life, their free community meal, every Monday, following the school schedule, beginning at 5 p.m. Located at 150 Ave. J in Lakehills, the menu varies each week, and donations are gratefully accepted. Call 830-751-2404 for more information.
AMERICAN LEGION POST 410, 147 Legion Dr. in Lakehills, is open to the public, from 3 p.m., Fridays through Wednesdays. They serve meals every Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m. Each week offers a different dish, with sides and beverage for $8 a plate. Desserts are available for a small amount and diners may eat in or take out. For more information, call the post’s new number: 830-612-1034.

On Feb. 6, Medina Lake is at 39.9 per cent capacity. The lake level is 1030.99 feet, which is down 33.21 feet.
The Medina River has a flow of 9.63 cfs in Bandera, standing 3.33 feet deep at the gage.
