We fell short of our ultimate goal of getting to the playoffs and winning a playoff game, but this group of seniors accomplished a lot and helped to lay the foundation for the future success we aim to achieve as a program.
I’m so glad I got a chance to work with our six seniors this year, and I’m going to miss them a ton.
At the same time, I hope the disappointment of missing out on the playoffs by one game will motivate our underclassmen to get in the gym this spring, summer and fall and encourage them to put in the work necessary to have a big win next year. We will return four starters from the lineup we played with in the second half of district play and I’m excited about the future in Bandera!
Bandera finished the season with a record of 10-15 and 2-8 in District 28-4A play, missing out on the playoffs by one game. While falling short of the postseason, the Bulldogs finished with the program’s best winning percentage since 2014-2015 and the most wins since 2017-2018. The team also improved its points per game average by 18 percent from last season and lowered its points per game allowed average by 8 percent. Bandera’s 76-point outing in a win against Canyon Lake was the most points the program scored in a game since 2015, and it was the most points scored in a district game since 2008.
The Bulldog coaching staff would like to recognize and thank its senior class, featuring Trace Decker, Ryan Zimmel, Lukas Jackson, Liberty Bomer, Gunnar Winkler and Ethan Langton, for their hard work and dedication to the program throughout their high school careers.
JV
The JV finished up its season with a tough 62-28 loss to an undefeated Boerne squad Tuesday night before Friday’s game against Wimberley was canceled due to weather conditions.
The Bulldogs were led by Kayden Brown's 10 points and Brice Clemens nine.
Bandera showed tremendous improvement at the JV level this season, posting an overall record that came up just short of the .500 mark at 9-10.
The JV Bulldogs will continue to work in the off-season as they prepare to make a push to contribute at the varsity level next season.

Freshmen
The freshmen Bulldogs closed out their season with a disappointing 65-22 loss to Boerne Tuesday night, after the Bulldogs dug themselves a deep first-half hole, before finding their footing after the halftime break.
Bandera was much more competitive in the second half after regrouping in the locker room to close out what was an extremely successful season.

The freshmen finished with a record of 12-7 and were 5-2 in district play, including an impressive win over Fredericksburg in the second half of district.
