Bandera/Pipe Creek animal rescue A Doggie 4 You receives $5,250 grant
A Doggie 4 You has been awarded a $5,250 grant from Bissell Pet Foundation for spay and neuter procedures. A Doggie 4 You and the Bissell Pet Foundation hope to address overcrowding in shelters and rescues by preventing unwanted litters of dogs in the Bandera/Pipe Creek community.
“Bissell Pet Foundation is proud to announce its spring grant cycle will award $413,510 in spay/neuter funding to 69 animal welfare organizations across 28 states,” BPF Founder Cathy Bissell said. “We’ve seen the impact spay/neuter makes in shelters and the communities they reside. With this funding, 14,740 pets will be impacted to prevent further homelessness across the country.”
According to A Doggie 4 You Executive Director Patricia Godkin, “the grant funds will be used to assist with 150 spay/neuter surgeries of any intact, rescued animal before it becomes available for adoption.”
The grant funds do not address free spay/neuter for the general public as A Doggie 4 You does not have the capability to perform spay/neuter surgery.
