ALAMO RC&D, Senior Assistance Program, continues the Curbside Pantry every month at Faith Tabernacle, 7789 FM 1283. The next Curbside Pantry will be held on Thursday, April 22, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Each senior household must pre-register at alamorcd.org. If you have trouble, text 210-548-9248 for assistance.
Registered senior citizens are invited to participate in the free Senior Zoom Social Club. Download the free Zoom app and each will be sent a link. Each monthly Zoom meeting includes fun, friendship, information with guest speakers, social discussions, online games, birthday celebrations and prizes. The next Zoom Social Club meeting is Thursday, May 13, at 2 p.m.
The free Zoom Fun-n-Fitness Class for registered seniors combines chair exercises, resistance and motion to music. Classes are every Monday at 1 p.m.
The new free Zoom Craft Chat for registered seniors will be Thursday, April 15, at 2 p.m.
PIPE CREEK CHRISTIAN SCHOOL will hold its annual Fundraiser Drive-thru Dinner on Friday, April 23, from 5 - 7 p.m., at the school, 1990 FM 1283. For $10 a plate, the meal will include beef lasagna, salad, garlic bread, drink and dessert. Tickets are available now at the New Life Resale Shop next door to the school and all proceeds will benefit the school.
LAKEHILLS LAST SATURDAY MARKET will take place on Saturday, April 24, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Lakehills Civic Center, 11225 PR 37. The music is offered by This Time Round. Barbecue returns as will many vendors. If interested in selling, call Jeremy Salois at 254-979-1073.
MICO VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT will hold their 57th annual BBQ Fundraiser on Saturday, May 8, at the station, 7121 CR 271, in Mico. The event includes a live auction with a water truck, a silent auction, a bounce house and obstacle course for the kiddos. Raffle tickets are on sale now at the fire station on Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to noon. Tickets will also be available in Laurel Canyon Ranch, 8 a.m. to noon; and in Bear Springs Ranch, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 10. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5, and you do not have to be present to win. Call 830-751-2658 for more information.
TRIPLE-H EQUITHERAPY will host the 21st Annual Trail Ride & Scavenger Hunt fundraiser on Saturday, May 8. Gate will open from 8 a.m. to noon. The trails will open from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The theme is “Honoring Heroes” and there will be a costume contest for horses and riders, with prizes. Non-riders are welcome and can use walking trails. Fees are: $35 for all ages of riders; $15 for adult non-riders; and $5 for non-riders 12 years and younger. It is a family event, with fun for all. Call Keisha at 210-900-0463 for more information.
FEMA has funds to assist families with funeral expenses related to Covid deaths. For more information, and to apply, contact FEMA at 844-684-6333, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Central Time.

AMERICAN LEGION POST 410, 147 Legion Dr. in Lakehills, is open from 3 p.m., Fridays through Wednesdays. They serve meals every Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m. Each week offers a different dish, with sides and beverage for $8 a plate. The Post is selling tickets for the July 4 Gun Raffle Event and the Brick Doll House Drawing. The drawings will take place at the Fourth of July BBQ and Parade. On April 21, Medina Lake is at 34.2 per cent capacity. The lake level is 1025.98 feet, which is down 38.22 feet.
The lake valves have been open since March 23. Without rain, our lake is being sucked dry at an alarming rate. Go to Save Medina Lake on Facebook, or the website SaveMedinaLake.com to be kept informed.
The Medina River has a flow of 8.38 cfs in Bandera, standing 3.27 feet deep at the gage.
