Log Cabin Library the newest Little Free Library location in Bandera County
Take a book, share a book

The Bandera Prophet
Inspired by the pioneer-era log cabins built near Polly’s School House in Pipe Creek, father-and-son team Bob and Chad Nelson have combined a piece of Bandera County’s history with a mission to promote literacy and the love of reading.
At the end of their driveway at 1596 Bear Creek Road in Pipe Creek, a miniature log cabin sits, filled with books. Registered with the Little Free Library organization, the books inside the Log Cabin Library are meant to be shared with anyone and everyone - and likewise, anyone and everyone is invited to share from their own collections.
The Little Free Library is a nationwide movement based on the premise to “take a book, share a book.” Based in Hudson, Wisconsin, the non-profit vision is to have these “libraries” in every community “and a book for every reader…not limited by time, space or privilege.”
Bandera County has three sites listed. To learn more about the Little Free Library, and to see a map of little library locations, go to littlefreelibrary.org.
