Pipe Creek Dancehall holds second successful market day

The Pipe Creek General Store and Dance Hall held their second bi-monthly Market Day on June 19.
The restored 1930s establishment drew a substantial crowd of visitors in spite of the heat of the day. There were couples, families and children enjoying the burgers, barbecue and the lively music provided by Billie Jo Music & Kadence Beckett on the big stage.
The 40 vendors offered woodcrafts, jewelry, soaps and lotions, as well as pottery and clothing. Many artists and artisans were promoting their wares. There was an eclectic assortment of goods to please any taste.
Children were safely playing in the playground, enjoying the small carousel and the swings.
Owner Bruce Martin has said he wanted to restore the old buildings to serve our community in a family friendly way. He has more than succeeded.
The plan is to hold Market Days every other month for, at least, the rest of this year. The next Market Day will be held Aug. 21, also from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Many of the vendors will return then. There will also be live music, lots of food, and many vendors.
The Pipe Creek General Store and Dance Hall is located at 9878 Hwy. 16 South in Pipe Creek. For more information, go to the website at pipecreekdancehall.com or call 210-854-6577.
