This month at the Medina Library
Come learn about chickens, ducks, quail, rabbits and geese. Why choose one over the other? Get help on how to decide which breed to raise and how to get started with tips on cages, pens and more. Attend the the Life Happens: Chickens and other fowl critters on Monday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m.

Medina Book Club will meet Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m.
Hill Country Needlers will meet Friday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m.
Beyblade Academy on Friday, Aug. 13, at 4 p.m.
Medina Quilters Club on Tuesday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m.
Medina Mom’s Night Out on Thursday, Aug. 19, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Please bring a snack to share, water will be provided.
Astronomy Club on Thursday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m.
Medina Wordsmith Writing Club on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 3:30 p.m.;
Other regular weekly events include beginners Yoga on Tuesdays at 8:45 a.m. and Fridays at 9:45 a.m.; and story time for the little ones on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.
The grand opening of the Rodney Camp Pavilion and the library’s 20th anniversary will be Saturday, Oct. 2, from 4-7 p.m. The community is invited to celebrate with free hamburgers and hotdogs, a family reptile show and exhibit: Alamo Images.
Free notary services are available, Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The library’s mission is to provide access to the world of ideas and promote life-long learning. It also functions as a community hub—a place for the increasingly diverse population of western Bandera County to come together to share ideas, information, knowledge and experience.
In addition to occasional special public programs the library itself sponsors relating to topics of local interest (past programs have ranged from archaeology to digital photography to rainwater harvesting), it also hosts a variety of meetings, events and activities sponsored by other community groups.
