A champion belt buckle was stolen during the Riding on Faith Rodeo ’21 Summer Series, and the producers are asking that it simply be returned, no questions asked.
During the final rodeo of the series last Friday, Aug. 13, the team roping buckle was taken from inside the announcers box, Chief Deputy Matt King said. The year end buckle would have been presented to the contestant who received the most points for the series. Each $300 buckle was hand designed and created by Hyo Silver, King said.
“Each buckle would have the specific event and year on it, so it would be easily identified if anybody came across it,” King said.
Although producers Karen and Troy Konvicka have filed a police report, they are imploring the person who took the buckle to anonymously give it back.
“We are asking that whoever decided that they needed a buckle that they didn't earn, to please do the honest thing and return it. Please! You can drop it off at the Mansfield Park Arena Office, no questions will be asked if you bring [it] to [the] arena. Please do the right thing,” they said in an online post.
