Candlelight vigil held in local teen's honor
More than 100 people attended a candlelight vigil Sunday evening, held in honor of 13-year-old Skyler Cavin, who passed away last week. The ceremony, officiated by Kyle Toomire, took place at dusk on the Medina River bank at the Courtney Ranch. Skyler's classmates were invited to place carnations on the water in his memory.
"This was not God's plan, but God was waiting to greet him with loving arms," Toomire said.
