Three local Cross County teams headed to State
Select individuals will compete as well

The Bandera Prophet
Local school districts, Bandera, Medina and Utopia, have XC teams or individuals headed to the state meet after good performances on Monday at the Region IV meet at Dugan Stadium on the TAMU C-C campus in Corpus Christi Monday.
Bandera
Bandera ISD had both varsity teams qualify by virtue of their top four finishes in their respective divisions.
Girls
The Lady Bulldogs Raelynn Butler finished in fourth place and Hannah Edwards finished 13th to lead Bandera to a bronze medal podium finish.
Gracie Bankston was just outside the top 20 in 21st with Kierstyn Brown in 35th and Emily Pressa rounding out the points scorers in 49th.
Makayla Gonzales and Trinity Butler also ran for Bandera.
Girls Two Mile

Boys
The Bulldogs finished in fourth with top dog, Braden Cox taking individual bronze for his excellent third place finish.
Also having a good day and a top 20 finish were Felix Diaz and Ethan Brown who pushed each other to a 16th and 17th place overall finish.
Sophomore runners, Albert Robinson and Hudson Jackson finished in the top third of the field in 40th and 58th scoring Bandera’s final points.
Reese Mazurek and Jacob Haas were the other two Bulldog runners.
Both teams will compete on Saturday, Nov. 6, with the girls 4A race at 10:00 a.m. and the 4A boys to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

Medina
In a field of 20 teams, the Medina girls had a third place finish at the Region IV-1A meet to stamp their ticket to the state meet.
The Lady Bobcats (115 points) finished behind Tilden McMullen County (59) and Moulton (91) while edging out Neches (143) for fourth place and Lasara with 149 points.
Medina had two runners in the top ten with Charli McCabe finishing fifth overall and Yadira Aguilar in eighth place.
Ahnika Grassie (26th) Hallie Kunz (34th) and Kytlin Peterson (56th) rounded out the Medina scorers. Victoria Taccetta and Kaydence Tilghman also ran for Medina.
The State Meet for 1A Girls will kick off the two day championships at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 5 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

Boys
The Medina boys did not have enough runners for team points, but in the field of 156 runners, Joe Preston had a top 20 finish in 18th with a 20:23.12 over the five kilometer distance.
He was followed by Chris Charnetski with a 23:38.92 in 64th and Gabriel Bower in 75th with a 24:36.78.
Preston will get to run as an individual competitor in Round Rock because of his high finishing spot.
Utopia
Girls
The Lady Buffs only female runner, Cherish Dunlap, won individual gold in the Region IV-1A event at Dugan Stadium to qualify to run at the state meet.
Dunlap finished the two mile course in a time of 13;05.48, almost 20 seconds ahead of silver medalist, Sianna Serrata of the championship Tilden McMullen County squad. Serrata finished in 13:25.37.
Boys
The Buffs will head to Round Rock as a team thanks to their fourth place finish in Corpus Christi.
Led by Luke Leavelle’s solid eighth place overall, the Buffs beat out a game Moulton team for the final state meet qualifying spot by 21 points.
