By Vicki L. George
The Bandera Prophet
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100: 4-5
Our current THANKSGIVING holiday commemorates the harvest festival celebrated by our Pilgrim forefathers in 1621. It was based on Sukkot, Feast of Tabernacles, from the Bible in Exodus 34:22. It is a day of giving thanks for the blessings of the previous year.
“Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path. The unfolding of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119: 105, 130
