The Latest at the Lakehills Area Library

By Dianna Landes
Lakehills Area Library Director

Marketplace Assistance is available now. On Thursdays, from noon to 3 p.m., until Dec. 15, and on Tuesdays, until Jan. 11,  from 10 a.m. to noon, a certified navigator from Healthcare.gov will be at the Lakehills Area Library to answer any questions you might have, help you to sign up for a plan, and to help you recertify your current plan. Drop by for assistance or to make an appointment with a navigator.
The library First Saturday book sale is Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hardbacks for only $1.50, children's books and soft covers are $.50. All money raised by our book sales goes to fund library programs and materials.
The Lakehills Library and Community Association will have its monthly board meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 4:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Dec. 11, at noon, Author Joanne Kukanza Easley will be at the Lakehills Library to talk about her new book, Just One Look. Both her new book and the previously published novel Sweet Jane will be available for purchase and autographing. Easley's books have been a hit with local readers, so if you would like to learn more about them and her writing processes, come see her at the library.
Preschool story time is every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. The kids will be entertained by Miss Dianna reading books, and they will get to sing songs and make preschool crafts designed to teach basic skills so that they are school ready. Children of all ages are invited to join us. Weather permitting, we will host our story time outdoors on our back porch.
A free yoga class for all ages happens every Tuesday and Thursday morning, at 10:30 a.m., in the Lakehills Library Meeting Room. Please bring a mat and water. Space is limited so we ask that you sign up with the library by calling 830-510-2777 or email Dianna at lakehillslibrary@gmail.com.
The library will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25 through Sunday, Nov. 28, for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
The Lakehills Area Library is at 7200 FM 1283. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
