Bandera General Store hosts the holiday spirit

As it has since 2019, the Bandera General Store is hosting its annual Gingerbread House and Christmas Children’s Art contests.
The art contest is open to children 13 years old and younger. Any medium will be accepted on a canvas no larger than 16x20 inches. The subject matter must be a Christmas scene. The deadline to turn art in at the store is Saturday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m. Judging will be Sunday, Dec. 12, at noon. Gift certificates for $75, $50 and $25 (first, second and third place) to the Bandera General Store will be awarded.
For the Gingerbread House contest, all houses must be on a wooden or cardboard base and no larger than 18x18 inches. The deadline to deliver the houses to the store is Thursday, Dec. 16, by 5 p.m. Judging will be Saturday, Dec. 18. Cash prizes will be awarded.
Also, watch for a special appearance from the big man in red this Friday, Dec. 3. Santa will be making his annual stop from 5-8 p.m. He will make a second appearance on Saturday, Dec. 4, from noon to 3 p.m. The free event will include punch and cookies for all.
