New Year’s Day celebrated Bandera style
Cowgirl Roundup takes place at Mansfield Park

Maintaining a tradition that began on New Year’s Eve in 1999, more than 30 local cowgirls gathered for the annual Cowgirl Roundup on Saturday, Jan. 1. The cowgirls in the saddle ranged in age from 7-year-old Emma McCartney to 83-year-old Susie Heywood. The panoramic photo was followed by afternoon trail challenges in the arena and lots of New Years Day reminiscing.

The cowgirls and their horses who participated are: Tina Richardson on Dozer; Karen Baker on Dandy; Sandra Nevels on Chevy; Zabrina Robinson on Sue; Betty Goll on Priss; Jessie Sorenson on Skye; Mary Beth Wright on Cinco; Lauren Rodgers on Killian; Eileen Connelly on Pistol; Leanne Beauxbeannes on Micky; Jeanne Beauxbeannes on Charlie; Susie Heywood on Cutter; Kimberly Story on Dillon; Debra Slate on Buddy; Renia Merritt on Painted Pony; Tommi Brown on Casper; Teresa Corgill on Abby; Marsha Stilley on Milo; Erika Sudz on Durango; Alejandra Garrison on Lozen; Terri Freeman on Doc Holiday; Camila Castrallon on Nezzie; Miranda Drane on Sabon; KD Cortez on Dude; Emma McCartney on Sunshine; Susie Hackney; Desi Schlansky; Carey Reed; Jackie Jackson; and Andy Davenport.
