Basketball
Girls
The Lady Bulldogs had 11 players meet the criteria to be selected for Academic All-District honors. Excelling in the classroom while playing in District 28-4A were:
Gabby Barerra, Katie Dibrell, Hannah Edwards, Summer Haby, Taylor Hamilton, Izable Kennedy, Xara Martinez, Avery Ouellette, Cameryon Ouellette, Tatum Trevino and Calie Tripp.

Golf
Comfort’s Buckhorn Golf Course was the venue for the Bandera golf teams to compete in at the Buckhorn Invitational last week.
Monday, the Bulldogs shot a 356, pretty good considering the weather. Jesse Cardenas led the way for Bandera with a 79, Trevor D’Spain scored an 87, Tristan Stoops carded a 91 and Josh Staples cleared a 100 with a 99.
On Wednesday, the Lady Bulldogs had just two golfers and they competed as individuals. Maryssa Fernandez shot a 99 and Tessa Phillips shot a 117, scoring
a personal best for each of them.

Soccer
Boys
After beating Canyon Lake by a 3-2 tally and suffering a 3-1 loss to Fred, the Bulldogs rebounded with a 9-1 victory over Great Hearts Northern Oaks last week to go to 4-5-1 in district play.
Bandera had two multiple goal scorers in Bryan Gonzalez and Beto Muzquiz with three and two goals respectively.
Felix Diaz, Cristian Garcia, Jace Knowles and Jesus Rodriguez each scored once in the win.
Coach Westley Miller said the defensive play of Juan Reyna, Zackary Lowhorn, Logan Sadler, Jacob Haas, Donavan Brown and Joshua Nimmrichter were responsible for shutting down the Griffins attack.
In a must win to get in scenario Friday, Bandera went down 2-0 at the half, battled back to make it 2-1, but came up just short against the Wimberley Texans.
The loss delegates Bandera into fifth place in the seven-team district, missing the playoffs by one spot.
Muzquiz scored the Bulldogs only goal and the defense, along with Goalkeeper Cody Jureczki, kept the Texans at bay for the second half.
With the loss, Bandera moves to 8-7-1 (4-6-1) on the season and the team will play its final match of the season at home against Boerne on Monday, March 21.
The match will see 13 Bulldog seniors play their last game in the royal and white.
Both team’s JV squads will play at 5 p.m. with the varsity match to follow.
