Lakehills American Legion Post again donates to Bandera County non-profit agencies

The Lakehills American Legion Post #410 continues its tradition of providing financial support for local area non-profit organizations who work to help foster the American Legion Constitution of mutual helpfulness to our community.
In their March General meeting, the members of the Post voted to award financial donations to numerous Bandera area non-profit organizations. These contributions were made to the Silver Sage Meals on Wheels program, the Lakehills Library, and the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic. Each will receive donation checks of $500 each.
“This award is voted on by our membership and these are the agencies our members work with, volunteer for, and support. We wish we could support more needy organizations, but we are proud of our quarterly assistance checks to local agencies. Our Legion members were very enthusiastic about providing this support and nominating these agencies for our direct financial support and the membership is insisting that we continue this support wherever possible,” Post Finance Officer Ron Clarke said.
“We are pleased to provide financial support once again to our local area community-based non-profits that do so much for our fellow residents and the Veterans we serve. Our Bandera County community has been very supportive of our Lakehills American Legion Post and our efforts, and as an open post, we are open to the public at large, and are supported by our local community members and Veterans. We are proud to pass on that support to our non-profit brother and sister organizations,” Post Commander Will Evans said.
The Lakehills post is getting ready to have a major renovation of its entire interior to modernize and upgrade the facility and it is open to the community each day (except Thursdays) at 3 p.m. For more on local events including Tuesday and Friday night dart leagues, meal nights, tournaments, poker, and so much more visit the Post’s website at www.alpost410.com.
Veterans are also invited to breakfast each Tuesday at 10 a.m. at La Cabana in Lakehills.
