Bandera Ham Rodeo a success
Save the date for Bandera Ham Rodeo 2023 – tentatively Saturday, March 18, 2023
By Julie Baker
Bandera Wranglers Secretary
Hogs, hogs and more hogs… Where else in Bandera would you find contestants trying to catch feral hogs except at the Bandera Ham Rodeo. The Bandera Ham Rodeo was held on Saturday, March 19, and are proud to report a successful Bandera Ham Rodeo.
We cannot thank the sponsors, vendors, volunteers and contestants enough for supporting this year’s Bandera Wranglers’ event. We hope you know how much your support means to our organization and our mission to continue this tradition in our community.
As an organization, our mission is to support those in need and bring the community closer together. The Bandera Wranglers is a volunteer, non-profit, membership-driven, community organization. With our recent win in court against PETA, which threatened our Ham Rodeo (formerly known as the Wild Hog Explosion) annual event and our community, we knew how important it is to continue as an organization. In addition to the Bandera Rodeo, we support local events and fundraisers to help raise donations for charities, local organizations that support those in need in our community. We do not receive anything from any funds raised or donations received. All man hours are volunteer, and everything earned or donated is put back into the organization to be delivered to the charities and organizations we support.
Money raised this year will be allocated to the local Bandera County Boys & Girls Club, to local efforts to assist local charity drives in our area during the holidays, to promote the 2023 Bandera Ham Rodeo and to cover Bandera Wrangler operational fees. If you are interested in any details, please let us know.
We are always willing to add new members to the Bandera Wrangler organization. The meetings are open to the public. They begin at 6:30 p.m. each second Monday of each month at the American Legion Post 157 in Bandera. We hope you can join us sometime. Follow us on Facebook for our latest updates.
