LAKEHILLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 150 Ave. J in Lakehills, offers a free community meal, Bread of Life, every Monday on school days, at 5 p.m.
In addition, the church offers a Food Pantry every other week, this month they are Fridays, May 13 and May 27, 10 a.m. to noon. Call 830-751-2404 for more information or follow on Facebook.
PRIMARY RUN-OFF ELECTION EARLY VOTING is one week only, from Monday, May 16 through Friday, May 20. The hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day, except for extended hours on Tuesday, May 17, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. While any eligible voter may vote in any location, if a voter already voted in the Primary, that voter must vote in the same party’s run-off election. Locations for early voting are: Ray Mauer Annex, 403 12th St., Bandera; Lakehills Area Library, 7200 FM 1283; and Medina Annex, 161 E. Parker St., Medina.
PRIMARY RUN-OFF ELECTION DAY is Tuesday, May 24, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Each voter must vote in their own precinct. Again, precinct voting locations have been combined: Precincts 101 and 102, vote at Pipe Creek VFD, 1331 FM 1283; Precincts 203 and 204, vote at Lakehills Area Library, 7200 FM 1283; Precincts 305 and 306, vote at Ray Mauer Annex, 403 12th St., Bandera; and Precincts 407, 408, 409, and 410, vote at Bandera ISD Transportation Bus Barn, 1576 Hwy. 173 S., Bandera.
AMERICAN LEGION POST 410, 147 Legion Dr. in Lakehills, is open to the public every day except Thursdays, from 3 p.m. They serve home cooked meals every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. For $8 a plate, you get an entree, sides and beverage. Desserts are available.

The Post is hosting a Classic Car Show on Friday, May 27, at 3 p.m.
The Post is also looking for individuals or organizations who would like to be in their annual July 4th Parade, to be held on Monday, July 4. The parade starts at 11 a.m., followed by the chicken and sausage barbecue at noon, with live music entertainment at 1 p.m. To submit your application for the parade, call Ron Clarke at 830-612-1038 or email [email protected].

MICO VFD held their 58th annual Fundraiser BBQ on May 7, held at the fire station in Mico. The event was packed, in spite of the heat, and one of the highlights was the lift-off of the Air Life helicopter. They honored all the surrounding fire department and volunteer firefighters who helped with the major fire in Medina County a few weeks ago, including Medina Lake, Pipe Creek, Castle Lake, and Bandera. The whole thing was a huge success and the Mico department expressed their deep gratitude to all.

On May 9, Medina Lake is at 18.5 per cent capacity. The lake level is 1008.33 feet, which is down 55.87 feet.
The Medina River has a flow of 4.83 cfs in Bandera, standing 3.17 feet deep at the gage.
