ARMED FORCES DAY is Saturday, May 21. That day we honor those who are currently serving in the military.
MEMORIAL DAY is Monday, May 30, when we honor all those who died while serving our country in the military.
VETERANS DAY is Friday, November 11. At that time, we honor all those living, who once served in the military.
PRIMARY RUN-OFF ELECTION EARLY VOTING is one week only, this week, Monday, May 16 through Friday, May 20. The hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day, except for extended hours on Tuesday, May 17, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. While any eligible voter may vote in any location, if a voter already voted in the Primary, that voter must vote in the same party’s run-off election. Locations for early voting are: Ray Mauer Annex, 403 12th St., Bandera; Lakehills Area Library, 7200 FM 1283; and Medina Annex, 161 E. Parker St., Medina.
PRIMARY RUN-OFF ELECTION DAY is Tuesday, May 24, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Each voter must vote in their own precinct. Again, precinct voting locations have been combined: Precincts 101 and 102, vote at Pipe Creek VFD, 1331 FM 1283; Precincts 203 and 204, vote at Lakehills Area Library, 7200 FM 1283; Precincts 305 and 306, vote at Ray Mauer Annex, 403 12th St., Bandera; and Precincts 407, 408, 409, and 410, vote at Bandera ISD Transportation Bus Barn, 1576 Hwy. 173 S., Bandera.
LAKEHILLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 150 Ave. J in Lakehills, offers a free community meal, Bread of Life, every Monday on school days, at 5 p.m.
In addition, the church offers a Food Pantry every other week and they will do it again Friday, May 27, 10 a.m. to noon. Call 830-751-2404 for more information or follow on Facebook.
The Methodist Men’s Group is grateful for the generous donations of Lucy’s BBQ, 4 Way Bar & Grill, Whisky Tango Foxtrot BBQ, and Thrivent toward the their annual Fish Fry. The fundraiser was very successful and many kiddos will be able to have a brighter Christmas because of this effort.
AMERICAN LEGION POST 410, 147 Legion Dr. in Lakehills, is open to the public every day except Thursdays, from 3 p.m. They serve home cooked meals every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. For $8 a plate, you get an entree, sides and beverage. Desserts are available.

PIPE CREEK DANCEHALL MARKET DAYS will host the next event Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p..m. Aloha! The theme is Hawaiian Luau, with live music by Jakob Botello and Ken Bunson, and food trucks. Vendors who would like to participate should text 210-854-6577.

On May 16, Medina Lake is at 17.8 per cent capacity. The lake level is 1007.22 feet, which is down 56.98 feet.
The Medina River has a flow of 2.95 cfs in Bandera, standing 3.09 feet deep at the gage.
