Keep in Beat with the Bandera Library

By Ashley Montes
Bandera Public Library

On Wednesday, July 6, at 4:30 p.m., the Medicare 101 class will meet in our Downstairs Meeting Room. If you are about to age into Medicare or are already receiving benefits, this class can help you navigate the system. Our next Medicare 101 class will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 4:30 p.m. The sizes of the classes are kept small so that our instructor is able to answer everyone’s questions. Contact the library to get more information on how to register for this class.
On Thursday, July 7, at 10 a.m., our Monthly Book Club will meet in our Genealogy Room to discuss “The Only Good Indians,” by Stephen Graham Jones. For more information on our Monthly Book Club contact the library.
The Friends of the Library Monthly Book Fair is Saturday, June 9.  Our Monthly Book Fairs are more than just books; we have CDs, audiobooks, records, rare books and even puzzles. Stop by any time between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to pick up something great. Everything is available by donation, which means you get to choose how much you give. Your donation will go straight to supporting the library.
Next Tuesday is the last day of our Summer Reading Program and we are so sad to say goodbye. Tuesday at 10 a.m., children ages 5-12 are welcome to join us for our final day of reading activities, arts, crafts and more. If you have not registered your kids yet, be sure to contact the library to do so.
While we may be saying goodbye to the Summer Reading Program, we are welcoming back Story Time on July 14! Children of pre-school age are welcome to join us for fun stories and crafts each week on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. The return of Story Time also marks the end of our weekly Makerspace Meet Up. Our Makerspace is a designated space for self-directed creative learning. Kids of all ages are encouraged to build and create using the materials at hand. Join us for our last Makerspace Meet Up, Thursday, July 7, at 10:30 a.m.
Make sure you stay up to date with library events by following us on Facebook (Bandera County Library), Instagram (@banderalibrary), or sign up for our monthly newsletter.
The Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7.
