Keep in Beat with the Bandera Library

By Ashley Montes
Bandera Public Library

Even though our Summer Reading Program has ended, summer is not over yet. It is not too late to start our Summer Reading Challenge. The Summer Reading Challenge is a challenge for adults and teens, which consists of 14 books from countries around the world. Whoever reads the most books from our reading list and turns in their reading guide to the Bandera Kronkosky Public Library by Aug. 31, wins a prize. Download our reading guide through our website at https://banderacountylibrary.org/summer-2022 or stop by the library to pick one up.
Story Time is back. On Thursday, July 14, at 10:30 a.m., children of preschool age are welcome to come and enjoy the exciting stories and fun crafts. Our first day back we will be celebrating everyone’s favorite summer fruit, watermelon. Stop by Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. to see what fun stories and crafts we have in store.
July’s featured artist is Lynn Marie Jones. Lynn is an acrylic and watercolor painter who is heavily inspired by “the nature and emotion all around us.” Her painting style ranges from impressionist to abstract with a focus on texture and movement.
“My paintings are from the heart, sharing emotion of time and place,” Lynn said. “There have been many chapters in my life so I am so excited with this new chapter of sharing my heart and my art with others.” Lynn’s paintings will be on display in the Library’s Art Gallery throughout the month of July. Stop by to see her fantastic pieces of art today.
If you are interested in becoming one of the Bandera Library’s Artists of the Month please contact us via email with photos of your art at banderalibrarycirculation@gmail.com or stop by the library for more information.
Looking for a new hobby? Come see our hobbies display. We have many books on different hobbies that you may be interested in trying. The display will be up through the month of July so come on in and find your new hobby today.
Make sure you stay up to date with library events by following us on Facebook (Bandera County Library), Instagram (@banderalibrary), or sign up for our monthly newsletter.
The Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7.
