Keep in Beat with the Bandera Library

By Ashley Montes
Bandera Public Library

August is finally here and we have a lot going on this month at the Bandera Kronkosky Public Library. Stay up to date with library events by following us on Facebook (Bandera County Library), Instagram (@banderalibrary), or sign up for our monthly newsletter.
Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 3, at 4:30 p.m., our Medicare 101 class meets in our Downstairs Meeting Room. If you are about to age into Medicare or are already receiving benefits, this class can help you navigate the system. Our next Medicare 101 class will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 4:30 p.m. The sizes of the classes are kept small so that our instructor is able to answer everyone’s questions. Contact the library to get more information on how to register for this class.
Thursday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m., our Monthly Book Club is meeting to discuss "Go Down, Moses" by William Faulkner. Go Down, Moses is composed of seven interrelated stories, all of them set in Faulkner’s mythic Yoknapatawpha County. From a variety of perspectives, Faulkner examines the complex, changing relationships between blacks and whites, between man and nature, weaving a cohesive novel rich in implication and insight.
This Saturday, Aug. 6, the Friends of the Library will be hosting their monthly Book Fair. Our Monthly Book Fairs are more than just books; we have CDs, audiobooks, records, rare books and even puzzles. Stop by any time between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to pick up something great. Everything is available by donation, which means you get to choose how much you give. Your donation will go straight to supporting the library. The Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7.
Happy tales, y’all.
