Keep in Beat with the Bandera Library
By Ashley Montes
Bandera Public Library
August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month and the library is celebrating with new books on breastfeeding. We will be getting several new titles this month to help new mothers who may be struggling with breastfeeding or soon to be mothers who may not know what to expect. Stop by the library or check out the library’s weekly blog posts through the month of August to learn more about each week of Breastfeeding Awareness Month. Our blog can be found through our website https://banderacountylibrary.org/blog.
With school starting back up next week, we wanted to remind everyone of some of our Kid-Friendly groups. The following programs are great afterschool and weekend activities for kids who may be looking for new groups to join:
Want to learn how to play Pokémon the Card Game, video games or just meet other Pokémon fans? The Pokémon League meets in our downstairs meeting room every Monday at 4:30 p.m. Email [email protected] for more information on the Bandera Pokémon League or follow the Bandera Pokémon League on Facebook for updates.
Every Tuesday, at 4 p.m., our Girls Who Code group meets in our Teen Center. Girls Who Code is a program geared toward helping to close the gender gap in technology fields. The program helps girls aged 6 and up to learn computer programing through fun activities.
Are you looking for a new adventure? Join our weekly Dungeons & Dragons group! Every Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the group meets to slay dragons, fight pirates or explore the jungle all from the safety of our Downstairs Meeting Room. Heroes of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join. Start your next adventure this Saturday.
Stay up to date with library events by following us on Facebook (Bandera County Library), Instagram (@banderalibrary), or sign up for our monthly newsletter.
The Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7.
Happy tales, y’all.
