Nutritional Bread Baking 101 class will be held at the Lakehills Community Center on Friday, Aug. 19, from 6-8 p.m. The class will include a demonstration, take-home demi-loaf, recipes and samples. The fee is $10 per person; $8 for LHCC members. RSVP to Kelly Beedle at 719-266-6550.

The Lakehills Area Library, 7200 FM 1283, has a food pantry, with fruits and veggies, available during open hours. Stop by from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays; and 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

The American Legion Post 410, 147 Legion Dr. in Lakehills, is open to the public every day except Thursdays, from 3 p.m. They serve home cooked meals every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. For $8 a plate, you get an entree, sides and beverage. Desserts are available.
