Bandera Recycles to present plan to commissioners
Bandera Recycles will present a proposal to the county on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m., during commissioners’ regular meeting. If approved, the site will celebrate a grand opening in October at the Bandera Solid Waste Station.
“[We] would like anyone interested in seeing recycling return to Bandera to attend for support,” organizer Bob Brischetto said.
Recyclable items will include clean/rinsed plastic bottles (with no caps) and aluminum cans, and flattened cardboard. Customers will be asked to refrain from bringing non-recyclable items, such as plastic bags, to-go containers, or food or liquids.
Bandera Recycles was founded earlier this year by a group of volunteers who participate in roadside litter cleanups, as well as certain humanitarian efforts for those in need.
The grand opening is set for Saturday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 3012 Hwy. 16 N. For more information, go to https://utamaverick2004.wixsite.com/banderarecycles-1, https://www.facebook.com/BanderaRecycles, or email [email protected]
