BMS Volleyball Report
By Jess Edwards
Bandera ISD coaching staff

The BMS Lady Bulldogs took on the Uvalde Lady Lobos in volleyball action last week.
All four teams w
ill play at Carrizo Springs on Wednesday.

Eighth grade
“A”

The “A” t
eam was out for redemption after a tough loss last week and it showed as the ladies won in two sets, 25-21 and 25-22.
Our goal was to work on transitions and girls did very well with moving on and off the net while working with their teammates.
Samantha “Peanut” Sardo had six aces and six blocks to lead the team, Cerissa Fernandez had three aces and two assists and Jessi Battle had three kills and an ace.

“B”
With a new lineup, players in new positions and a new offense, the team shined as they took the match in two sets, 25-12 and 25-16.
Communication was stronger and the girls continued to work on three touches. Each girl played aggressively at the net trying to get kills and blocks meanwhile the back row was able to control more of their passes.
H. Halsey led with 15 serve points with an incredible unreturnable serve. The girls continue to work hard and grow each week sharpening their skills.

Seventh grade
“A”
The “A” team faced Uvalde on Monday night with a strong opening, winning game one 25-19.
Aiden Kavangh served seven straight points, while Zoe Taylor and Pyper Bernard recorded one kill each.
In game two we were inconsistent with our serving and Ulvade quickly began to pull away, taking the second set. 19-25.
The tie breaker was tough for Bandera as we struggled to gain any sort of momentum and lost 4-15.
While the match didn't go our way, I am still very proud of the hard work and progress these girls are making each week.

“B”
The “B” team played our best against Uvalde, despite the game resulting in a loss. Uvalde struck first, taking a 25-21
win but we battled back in a game two win, 25-18 to force the tiebreaker. In a tough match, we lost a 15-10 decision.
Amazing standouts go to T. Marrs and C. Vandebrook who combined for 11 great serves.
M. Ranly and K. Duckworth showed significant improvement in this game by both serving and passing.
Overall, a strong effort from our team!
