Tutoring service hiring tutors, accepting sign-ups for sessions now

The first grading period of the school year is now on the books. As students are settling in, some may find certain subjects a little challenging. For those who are struggling, need some reinforcement, or who may have fallen behind in previous years, help is on the way.
“The pandemic really affected academics, and want to strive to help catch students back up and support them however we can,” Small Town Tutoring founder Alyssa Cothran said. “Our goal is to come alongside Bandera ISD and surrounding communities and help students with all subjects and test prep from Kinder through 12th grade.”
Cothran said Small Town Tutoring is in the process of hiring tutors, and she hopes to be ready to schedule tutoring sessions by Nov. 1. She said all tutors will be 18 or older, and will have completed background checks. Fees will range from $20 - $40 per hour, based on the experience and education of the tutor.
“We really want to give parents some options, so it's affordable as well,” Cothran said.
