The Bandera Recycles county-wide recycling program will mark its grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 29, near the Bandera Solid Waste Station at the entrance of Mansfield Park.
The recycling site will be open one day per week on Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be manned by volunteers, who will supervise the intake. Items accepted will be limited to clear plastic drinking bottles (caps removed), aluminum cans and flattened corrugated cardboard.
“This is not open to people just dropping off trash,” Pct. 4 Commissioner Jody Rutherford said previously, adding anyone who tries to drop off non-recyclable items will either take them home or pay for the garbage at the trash collection station, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
