JV girls crowned district champs, JV boys win silver, varsity boys advance
The District 28 4A cross-country meet was held in Fredericksburg on Thursday.

Bandera’s Braden Cox outpaced the field by almost 11 seconds to take individual gold and help lead Bandera to a second-place finish as a team in the seven-team field.
The Bulldogs had six runners finish in the top half of the field of 48 runners in the 5K event as they fought off third place Boerne to advance to regional competition that takes place Monday, Oct. 24 at TAMU-CC.
At the regional meet, the top four teams and any top 10 finishers not on a top four team will advance to the state meet.

With some of the Lady Bulldogs under the weather Thursday morning, Bandera was fighting an uphill battle to win, place or show in district and advance to regional competition.
It wasn’t meant to be as Bandera fell to fourth place to finish their season.
Led by Mykayla Gonzales, Kinlee Lawlis and Emily Presa, all finishing in the top 20, Bandera finished 20 points behind Boerne for the third transfer slot for the 3200M event.

With the five-point scorers placing in the top nine places and the two other runners covering in 10th and 11th, Bandera was the class of the field as they cruised to a team gold ahead of Boerne and Wimberley in the 3200M event.
The top three points scorers for Bandera were Taytum Moeller, Landry Ryan and Layney Bowman, who all were in the top five.

The Bulldog JV made a good showing at the district meet with three runners in the top 10 spots.
Along with the other two-point earners in 13th and 14th, the Bulldogs finished with team silver.
All seven of the Bandera runners were in the top 20 for the 5K distance.

The “A” team lost in three hard fought matches. 16-25, 26-24, and 4-15. During the first set Pressley Greenley had 11 points in a row serving! Samantha “Peanut” Sardo had seven serves in a row and Sydney Moore had six. We are now learning how to adjust during critical situations and when the game is on the line, everyone wants to get the ball.
“B”
The “B”s lost in two sets against a great Devine volleyball team. 20-25 and 10-25. Autumn Prater had seven serving points against Devine. Our team was getting three touches every play. Leading the attack was Milesia Casas who had seven attacks on the game with assists coming from Prater. Overall these girls played hard each point and I am proud that they are transitioning and getting attacks on the ball.
