Edward Jacob Postert, Jr.
March 1, 1949 ~ October, 16, 2022

Edward Jacob Postert, Jr., 73, of Bandera, passed away on Oct. 16, 2022 in San Antonio. He was born in San Antonio to Edward Jacob Postert and Velma Lee Jacobs Postert on March 1, 1949. He became a father to Mendy in 1974, Ginger in 1981, and Tammy in 1984 to first wife Shelly. He married Jo Ann Hilton Postert on Sept. 2, 2012 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. 
He graduated from Bandera High School in 1967 and worked his way through three years of college before becoming a construction superintendent for Richter & Ratner for 26 years and then for Shawmut Design & Construction for another decade. He fully retired in 2017 to enjoy the family ranch and his grandsons Jeremiah and Maverick, and his dogs Oscar and Roscoe. 
He is preceded in death by his daughter Mendy Lou Postert; his father Edward “Buddy” Postert; and his brother James Bernard Postert. 
He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Postert; his daughters Ginger Frye and husband Justin, Tammy Lukaszewicz and husband Martin; mother Velma Postert; brother Douglas Postert; grandsons Jeremiah and Maverick Lukaszewicz; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. 
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 2, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera with Benjamin Causey of Calvary Temple officiating. 
Memorials may be given to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org) or the Arbor Day Foundation (www.shop.arborday.org) in honor of Ed Postert. ​
