The “A” team won in two sets for the night, 25-23 and 25-22. The last time we played Uvalde we won in three sets and our goal was to win in two sets. The ladies surpassed their goal and played some great volleyball! We had players in new positions, but with the help of their team they were able to persevere. We are now working as one!
Our next match will be our last home game of the season, and we are out for redemption. Come out and cheer on your favorite girls as they battle Carrizo Springs this coming Monday at 5 and 6 p.m.
Bandera stats:
Aces: Cerissa Fernandez, 5, Jessi Battle, 3, Sydney Moore, 2, Kyra Blake, 1, Becky Gomez, 1
Kills: Battle, 5, Moore,4
Digs: Blake, 4, Sydney Moore, 2, Raeleigh Ussery, 2, Battle, 1
Assists: Samantha “Peanut” Sardo, 7, Fernandez, 3
“B” Team
Bandera defeated Uvalde in three sets with scores of 25-13, 16-25 and 18-16. These girls learned a valuable lesson after their loss last week against Devine. When you lose, you learn and grow. They fought hard to bring home the win after major changes were made to the lineup and positions.
D. Schmidt and M. Casas served up five points each while three of them were aces. X. Cook and M. Casas with two digs. T. Schniebs with two kills and O. Flores and X. Cook with a kill each. A. Prater and K. Lake each with two assists. These girls did not give up and we am so proud of each of them.

“A”
The Lady Bulldogs fell short to Uvalde Monday night. We started out in game one with fighting point for point and pulling out the win with a score of 25-23. In game two, we started out strong with great serves from Aiden Kavangh, creating a 6-0 lead, but Uvalde quickly closed the gap and we were back to battling. We lost game two by a score of 22-25. In the tie breaker, we struggled to gain momentum and fell, 11-15.
The Bulldogs had lots of highlight moments where they showed maturity in transitioning with each possession.
Kolbie Lawlis also recorded an outstanding hustle play by running to save a ball with her teammate’s right there with her to secure the save. We are still very proud of the progress these girls have made each week.
Bandera stats:
Aces: Kavangh, 4, Pyper Banard, 2, Brinlee Hauer,1, McKenna Jones, 1, Kolbie Lawlis, 1, Bella Pace, 1
Kills: Banard, 2, Zoey Taylor, 1
Digs: Pace, 3, Jones, 2
“B”
The “B” team played against Uvalde and won the match in three sets, winning the first one 25-11, losing the second 25-16, and winning the last set, 15-8.
Great efforts on keeping the ball alive by Olivia Walker and Brylee Joseph that kept the game going and led to scores for Bandera.
Tahtiana Simpson had an incredible streak on serving the ball that led to a lot of points gained for the team throughout the game. As the season approaches the end, these girls have a lot to be proud of and what they have accomplished.
