The Bandera Prophet
The Bandera Bulldogs combined JV squad hosted an overpowering Devine Warhorses team Thursday evening, and the visitors took a decisive win back home.
Bandera was missing a few of their starters and it showed. After a scoreless first quarter, Bandera found itself down in the second after a Devine rushing touchdown and a pick six made it 14-0 midway through the second quarter and another score made it 21-0 at the half.
The Bulldogs finally broke the Warhorses bid for a shutout late in the fourth quarter when converted running back to quarterback Jeffry Thomas scored from the one-yard line with 1:45 left to make it 35-6 and a good PAT finalized the score at 35-7.
With the loss the Bulldogs fall to 5-3 on the season and the teams will split for Thursday with the Blue taking on YMLA in San Antonio and the Gray facing Center Point there.
