Effective Nov. 22, the countywide burn ban has been lifted.
Commissioners implemented the ban Nov. 10, but thanks to several days of slow soaking rain, County Judge Richard Evans lifted the ban.
According to the Keetch-Byram Drought Index, Bandera County is between 500-600 out of 800 - the highest forest fire potential. The drought index is based on a daily water balance, and ranges from 0 to 800, where a drought index of 0 represents no moisture depletion, and an index of 800 represents absolutely dry conditions.
