Ridin’ the River Cowboy Fellowship hosts Goat Roping Event
Ridin’ the River Cowboy Fellowship invites everyone to its Goat Roping Event, the first big event to welcome in the New Year 2023.
Open & Mix Goat Roping kicks off Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, with Rope at 1 p.m. in the RRCF Arena. The goat roping is a timed event that includes a team of two ropers (a header and a heeler) and of course, the goat. The event is all on foot. A goat is released from the chute, and one person ropes its head while the other catches its hind legs. The goal is to catch the goat and get a secure tie with the fastest time.
While many participate just for the fun, the event is competitive, and the top teams can walk away with $1,000 added in cash and prizes.
To participate, all you do is show up and sign up.
-$10 per side $20 per team both ropings
-Open is 4 head PA 1 (WS Style)
-Mix is 2 head PA 1 (WS Style)
(Must be 12- , 55+ , or a lady to rope in Mix Roping)
The outdoor, family friendly event is fun for spectators and ropers alike. Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. with lunch served at 11:30 a.m. Books open at 12:30 p.m.
Ridin’ the River Cowboy Fellowship is at 5767 Hwy 173 N, Bandera. For more information, call the main office at 830-460-0710, or go to www.https://ridintheriver.com.
Ridin’ the River Cowboy Fellowship (RRCF) was started in an August 2010, meeting in the dirt at Twin Elm Guest Ranch. As winter approached, we moved to Mansfield Park. A short time later, there was an opportunity to meet at the Old Bandera Downs racetrack. And then a few years ago, our leadership was led to purchase 17 acres of land located at 5767 State Hwy. 173 N, Bandera, TX 78003, erecting our new church home and arena.
