Bandera County nonprofits receive a quarter million dollars from Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio
Four Bandera County nonprofit organizations have received grants from Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio (BHFSA). One organization, Deer Creek Camp, received its first grant ever from BHFSA. The other four organizations are longtime friends of BHFSA and have cumulatively received over one million dollars from the Foundation over the last 20 years.
The four grants equaled a total of $270,000, and were given to the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic, Deer Creek Camp, Silver Sage Community Center and Triple H Equitherapy.
The organizations were notified of their awards in November, then invited to a reception in their honor in December. Ginger Eways, Executive Director of Triple H Equitherapy, was asked to speak during the program. In response to a question about learning since the pandemic she stated, “Coming through the pandemic confirmed both my own capacity for resilience as well as the resilience of our organizations. This reminds me of a Japanese proverb… Fall down seven times, get up eight.”
In total, BHFSA gave away $9.4 million to nonprofits located in Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Medina and Wilson counties in 2022. Funds were given to nonprofit organizations that work to improve physical, mental, and spiritual health in the community.
Baptist Health Foundation of San Antonio (BHFSA) was formed in 2004 to fund nonprofit healthcare services and education throughout Bexar County and seven surrounding counties. Since inception, BHFSA has awarded over $100 million in grants to further BHFSA’s mission of honoring God by improving the health of our community. For more information, visit bhfsa.org.
