Eighth grade
"A"
In spite of losing 29-13 to Devine, the BMS coaching staff was impressed by the defensive improvement compared to previous games against Devine.
Presley Greenley did an outstanding job of stifling Devine’s talented point guard and Sydney Moore secured most of the rebounds for Bandera.
"B"
The B team lost to Devine by a 14-8 score. The Lady Bulldogs moved the ball well offensively, but the rim was stingy and open shots wouldn’t fall. Cameryn Plummer played an outstanding game, hustling on defense, and scoring half of Bandera’s points.

Seventh grade
"A"
Playing their best defensive game of the season and keeping Devine to single digit scoring in three out of the four quarters, Bandera took a 36-21 loss against Devine.
The coaching staff said the main goal of the contest, probably the toughest game of the season, was to be aggressive in all four quarters. The guards took control of the tempo, getting many steals from our press by anticipating the pass and trusting their speed.
Tahtiana Simpson led the Bandera scoring with 10 points, Zoey Taylor added nine and Pyper Barnard contributed two points in the loss.
Boys
The BMS boys basketball teams traveled to Devine to start the second half of district. Only the eighth grade "A" team scored a "W" on the night.
Bandera will host Uvalde this Thursday evening with the "B" teams starting at 5 p.m. and the "A" teams to follow.

Eighth grade
"A"
Bandera opened up strong, scoring 17 in the first quarter led by Caleb McKenzie's seven point performance.
The boys would continue to pass the ball well and play solid defense in the first half, taking a 30-15 lead at the half thanks to Cooper Franklin's 10 points in the half.
Breydan Gherman and Dalton Parks led the offensive charge in the second half which ultimately led to a Bulldogs victory, 61-32. Franklin just missed a double-double and the 61 points was a season high for the team.
Bandera stats:
Scoring: Franklin, 17, Parks, 12, Gherman, 9, McKenzie, 9
Rebounds: Franklin, 9, McKenkie, 6, Parks, 4, Gherman, 1,
Steals: Franklin, 5, Gherman, 1, Parks, 1
Blocks: Gherman, 1, Parks, 1

"B"
The B team failed in their bid to get back to back wins after losing 35-20 to Devine.
After a low scoring first stanza, both teams found some offense in the second.
Devine outscored Bandera in the third and held the lead to get the win.
Jaymin Klein and Remi Galloway led the Bandera effort, stealing the ball several
times and scoring five points in the fourth.
The B team will participate in the Hondo tournament on Saturday.
Bandera stats:
Scoring: Galloway, 6, Klein, 5, Nathan Sinclair, 4, Camlin Serene, 3
Rebounds: Serene, 4, Klein, 3, Sinclar, 3, Galloway, 1
Steals: Klein, 5, Serene, 3, Sinclair, 2, Galloway, 1
Seventh grade
"A"
The A team lost a very physical contest, 61-27. The game was competitive early, but by the end of third period, the Dogs found themselves in foul trouble. Chris Martinez had a strong fourth quarter, adding seven for his total on the night.
Micah Toomire and Malachy King led the scoring for the Bulldogs with eight points each, Carter Hanks and Ethan Marks chipped in two points respectively.

"B"
The B Dogs were lost by a score of 62-6. William De La Paz scored four and Kolbi Vance added two points for Bandera. The effort and improvement this team has made is a an ongoing project and the coaching staff is glad to see improvement every week.
