Bandera High School Speech and Debate Team bring home awards from TFA tournament
The Bandera High School Speech and Debate Team competed at the Boerne Champion TFA tournament over the weekend, and brought home several awards.
Individual awards went to:
Junior Steven Koonce - 2nd Poetry
Sophomore Micah McCreary - semis Domestic Extemp
Junior Savannah Venegas - 2nd Prose
Junior Syd Fletes - 1st Prose
Senior Katelyn Mendez - top speaker Policy Debate
Senior Team - Katelyn Mendez and Elijah Sarazua - 2nd place Policy debate. This sealed their qualification to TFA state in March, and is their second state qualification this year. This team will also compete at a National qualifier in April.
