Medina Sports Report

Medina Lady Cat Softball earns a pair of wins for the week of Feb. 12-18 by defeating Knippa and Harper. The Lady Cats hosted Knippa on Tuesday for their season opener and gave the crowd much to cheer about with a 22-3 victory. Medina was led offensively by sophomore Hallie Kunz with 2 hits and 4 RBIs. Senior Charli McCabe and junior Jazelle Reagan added in two hits each while freshman Audrey Gatlin led the team in base running with 4 stolen bases for the contest. Freshman Kailey McCabe earned the win on the mound giving up just one hit in the game with 5 strikeouts.
Thursday afternoon the Lady Cats received their second win by defeating the Lady Horns from Harper by a score of 8-7. Hitting was led by junior Kytlin Peterson with 2 hits and 3 RBIs. Hallie Kunz and Charli McCabe added 2 RBIs each with sophomore Sienna Carter earning a hit in the contest. Sophomore Hattie Barton pitched a solid game for the win with 3 strikeouts.
The Lady Cats next home contest will be Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24 and 25 as Medina hosts their annual softball and baseball tournaments.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Medina Boys Basketball completes their season with two wins over playoff bound Utopia on Tuesday, Feb. 14. The junior varsity Bobcats began the night with a commanding 50-28 win.
A break in action between games allowed the coaches and teams to honor senior basketball players Dawson Simons and Davis Briley. These seniors would take that honor and lead their team to a varsity victory in their final basketball game as a Medina Bobcat by a score of 58-46.
