Keep in Beat with the Bandera Library
By Mauri Guillén Fagan
Bandera Library Director
February has flown by and we are looking ahead to the many happenings in March. As always, subscribing to the library’s monthly newsletter or following the library on social media is the best way to stay on top of the many goings on at the Bandera Kronkosky Public Library.
Friday, March 3, is our Evening with An Author from 6 - 8 p.m. Local author Jan Sikes will be here to discuss her White Rune Series that include“Ghostly Interference”, “Jagged Feathers” and “Saddled Hearts”. Her books have earned First Place in the Reviewer’s Choice awards from the Paranormal Romance Guild. Come by the library to meet Jan Sikes, hear about her writing process and pick up a copy of her books. Light refreshments will be served.
Saturday, March 4, is our Monthly Book Fair, hosted by the Friends of the Library. Come peruse hundreds of new and gently used books available by donation. The proceeds of the fair go toward buying new books for the library’s collection. It’s a win – win!
It’s not too late to sign up for the BINGOcize class beginning on March 6 and occurring on Monday and Wednesday, from 1 - 3 p.m. in the Downstairs Meeting Room. This class will be a combination workout and game of BINGO. Call the library to reserve a spot or put your name on the sign up sheet the next time you are in the library.
Looking for a great little spot to work on your knitting or crochet project? Join the weekly Sit and Stitch on Wednesdays from 4 - 5 p.m. in the library. You can bring your knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching or any other kind of stitchery.
March is officially Murder Mystery Month. All month long the library will be hosting a murder mystery (similar to the game Clue). A murder is on the loose at the Bandera Public Library. We need your help to solve this mystery. Check the library Facebook page on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings for a clue. At the end of the month, those who have submitted the correct name for the killer to Brittany at [email protected] will receive a gift card to their choice of business in Bandera. Everyone is a suspect, including you.
Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is still available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Stay up to date with library events by following us on Facebook (@Bandera County Library), Instagram, TikTok (@banderalibrary), or sign up for our monthly newsletter through our website at www.banderalibrary.org.
Happy tales, y’all.
