Keep in Beat with the Bandera Library

By Mauri Guillén Fagan
Bandera Library Director

Any guesses yet as to who the culprit is? All month long we are celebrating Murder Mystery March with a community-wide game of Clue. The much beloved, dare I say adored, library director has come to an untimely end. All that was left was the pile of books she was shelving and a spilled cup of Earl Grey tea.  Follow along as clues are released on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays this month. Those who correctly guess the identity of the murderer will be entered into a drawing for a prize. Put your Sherlock Holmes caps on and help us solve this mystery!
Stop by the library on Saturday, March 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., for a fresh produce giveaway. On Monday, March 20, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Edmundo from AETNA will be at the library to answer questions about Medicaid and CHIP.
On Wednesday, March 22, at 3 p.m., we have a new program at the library. Thanks to the efforts of Don’t Mess with Bandera and County Commissioner Rutherford, recycling has returned to Bandera.  However, some items are non-recyclable. So what should you do with all that stuff you can’t drop off at the recycling center? Come by to the Texana Room on Wednesday to learn how to repurpose non-recyclable materials and use them for fun and cute crafts.
Another new program will take place on the library’s back patio on Friday, March 24, at 10:15 a.m., Yoga With Care is a BYOM (bring your own mat) outdoor yoga class. It is gentle enough for all levels. After the class, enjoy some light refreshments to enjoy all those wonderful after-yoga class feels. If it is your first yoga class, be sure to stop into the library and check out one of the library’s yoga DVDs or books to expand your practice.
Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is still available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Stay up to date with library events by following us on Facebook (@BanderaLibrary), Instagram, TikTok (@banderalibrary), or sign up for our monthly newsletter through our website at www.banderalibrary.org.
