Local museums roll out the carpet for Spring Break festivities

The Bandera Prophet

Bandera’s local museums pulled out all the stops for Spring Break, each lining up daily activities to entice and entertain tourists and local visitors.
The Bandera Natural History Museum featured a multitude of events, including an arrowhead presentation; hands-on experience with a camel and water buffalo from Bill Rivers’ Movieland Animals; face painting and scavenger hunts; tours of prehistoric and Ice Age animals; a close-up view of birds of prey with Last Chance Forever conservancy; and horseback riding among the dinosaurs.
The Frontier Times Museum celebrated Pioneer Day, inviting kids of all ages to make cornhusk dolls and button spinners; Frontier Art Day; Sheep Shenanigans, when guests learned how to spin wool and make felt bowls; Rodeo Day with Kevin Fitzpatrick; Cowboy Day with fresh peach cobbler; and wagon rides all week.
Both museums host a myriad of special events and activities throughout the year. To see more from the Natural History Museum, check out their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/BanderaNHM.
