Bandera UIL teams celebrate awards, ready for regional

The Bandera High School academic, speech and debate teams had a great day at the District meet with 13 regional qualifiers and alternates headed to Corpus in April.
Awards went to: 
Elena Ellingson - 3rd ready writing (regional qualifier) 
Edyn Knudtson - 4th ready writing (regional alternate), 5th copy editing, 6th editorial
1st place computer science team (regional qualifying team) - Hunter Garrett, Sarah Guajardo, Sam Bottoms, and Alec Smith
1st place computer science - Hunter Garrett (regional qualifier) 
Micah McCreary -1st  LD debate (regional qualifier)
Elias Toomire - 3rd LD debate (regional qualifier) and LD top speaker
Savannah Venegas - 2nd Prose (regional qualifier) 
Sydthony Fletes - 4th Prose (regional alternate) 
Elijah Sarazua - 3rd Informative (regional qualifier) 
Micah McCreary - 5th Informative
Isabella Chapa - 6th Informative
Cole Grothues - 3rd Persuasive (regional qualifier)
Elias Toomire - 5th Persuasive 
Cassandra Steffler - 4th Persuasive (regional alternate) and 5th Spelling
2nd place speech team
Vanessa Perez - 6th Spelling
2nd place team Social Studies -  Anika Gard, Elijah Sarazua, Megan Mize 

Congratulations to them and their amazing coaches: Mrs Jones, Mrs Frye, Mr Keane, and Mr Koerlin.
