Keep in Beat with the Bandera Library

By Mauri Guillén Fagan
Bandera Library Director

March is already over? How is it January is 15 weeks long and the rest of the months only have like two weeks? Just who is having so much fun that time is flying by this quickly?
Did you know the Bandera Library is a community partner to several local service organizations? We host one of WorkForce Solutions Alamo Jobs and Careers Connection Station located in the Artist of the Month Gallery. The kiosk is available during library operating hours and can be used to be connected to a live representative. They can help you complete your interest form and also advise you on the workforce services that are available. Representatives are available to help in both English and Spanish. If you or someone you know is looking for help finding a job please come by the library and utilize this great resource.
Another partner is the Community Council of South-Central Texas. CCSCT is committed to helping vulnerable individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency by developing programs and services to meet their needs. These include Utility Assistance, Home and Rental Assistance, the Head Start Program, WIC and Veterans Financial Assistance. The library keeps copies of the intake forms for folks so just ask for one at the circulation desk. You will need to make an appointment, however, to meet with a representative from CCSCT so contact the library to get more information.
Swing by the library some time during April to see the featured Artist of the Month Laura M. Levy. Laura is passionate about nature photography and been focusing her lens on the birds, butterflies, insects and plants of the Lost Maples State Park. She recalls a bird walk through Lost Maples as a life changing experience. It was on this walk attempting to capture birds to identify them later. However, it avalanched into an obsession.  Levy’s work will be on display from April 3 until April 28.
Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is still available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Stay up to date with library events by following us on Facebook (@BanderaLibrary), Instagram, TikTok (@banderalibrary), or sign up for our monthly newsletter through our website at www.banderalibrary.org.
Happy tales, y’all.
