Bandera High School senior represents at Basketball All-Star game
Bandera High School senior Kayden Brown proudly represented the Bandera basketball program at the 7th annual Chicken Express Basketball Classic, held March 25, at Fredericksburg High School.
As a member of the South Squad, Brown displayed exceptional talent and skill amoung some of the top players in the Hill Country. The first-team all-district and Class 4A Region IV All-Region selection scored 17 points, secured several rebounds, and had a handful of assists. He made a number of critical plays late in the 4th quarter, helping the South Squad complete a dramatic comeback on their way to a 134-127 win over the North team.
Brown is the first Bandera All-Star game participant in several years after concluding his career with the Bulldogs in March. As a four-year letterman, Brown scored a total of 679 points and racked up 292 rebounds, 152 assists, and 99 steals. In a breakout senior season, he averaged 12.5 points, 4.4 rebounds. 1.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, and shot 41% from the 3-point line. His contributions helped carry the Bulldogs to their first playoff win since the 2013-14 season.
Brown hopes to continue his basketball career and education at the college level next year.
